Spending today in bed recovering from one of the best weekends I’ve ever had; what can I even say about Squamish Valley Music Festival other than it exceeded all expectations. It was fun from beginning to end. Because of a series of unfortunate events, my friends and I had to split up into two groups less than 24 hours before we were supposed to be up there. Five of us stayed in a motel and even though it wasn’t camping, it wasn’t far off. I love camping but I just don’t think that camping at a festival is the same for a number of reasons, good and bad. After witnessing the gong show that was Pemberton Music Festival, I just can’t put myself in a position where I wouldn’t be able to shower for 3-4 days.

The performances were all so memorable, all the headliners killed it. I don’t listen to as much indie/rock/folk music as I used to but I loved watching the EDM and rap artists. Tchami and Schoolboy Q were both so rowdy and fun. Drake and Adventure Club are among my top 5 favourite artists so I was so happy to be seeing them again. It was first and definitely not last music festival and call me cheesy but I’m so glad I got to spend it among some of my closest friends. This whole summer has been a “girls only” summer and it felt so good to relax after a stressful school year. Only a few weeks away now! Next week I’m off to Scotland to spend some time with family and I cannot wait, Scotland is my second home and if I wasn’t so attached to Vancouver I would move there in a heartbeat.
