The biggest shift I’ve noticed in my wardrobe starting in 2015 is that I wore less and less all-black outfits. Something that I’m trying to do is wear casual light tones to brighten up my wardrobe. Black outfits have been my signature look for a few years since graduating high school and there was nothing that could make me feel better or more put-together than wearing head to toe black. It’s chic, classic and it makes you look thin.. Is there anything better?

After watching the “73 Questions with Anna Wintour” video from Vogue’s Youtube channel, something she said that caught my attention is that she would never wear head to toe black. There are thousands of people in the world who would disagree, myself included, but seeing as she is the Editor-In-Chief of the most significant fashion magazine in North America (and arguably the world) this comment really stood out to me. Even though I will probably never stop wearing all-black outfits, I’ve made a conscious effort to incorporate lighter tones in my wardrobe. A new year for me begins on my birthday rather than January 1st because really that’s when you’ve started a new year of your life but since my 22nd birthday is fast approaching I don’t mind starting this resolution early.
